fastahack software package provides utility for indexing and sequence extraction from FASTA files, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fastahack
fastahack is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fastahack package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fastahack *
You will get with fastahack package name, version, architecture and description in a table
